Following strikes by the Defense Forces in response to Russian attacks on the Ukrainian power grid, which have been ongoing for nearly four years, hundreds of apartment buildings in Belgorod alone were left without heat and power. The city has begun opening heating stations and draining water from heating systems, and an evacuation of children and pensioners has been announced. On February 15, Bryansk and Belgorod were subjected to a massive drone attack. The strikes knocked out power and heat in parts of the Bryansk region and in Belgorod; the attack lasted more than 12 hours.
