The Baliem Valley Cultural Festival is located in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province. The Baliem Valley Cultural Festival is held annually. Almost every year, this unique annual festival is centered in the Walesi District of Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province.
This is an occasion when the diverse tribes of the Wamena highlands and the Baliem Valley, such as the Dani, Lani, and Yali, gather to celebrate their annual festival. The festival features numerous performances by various tribes, many of which simulate inter-tribal and inter-family warfare, as well as several traditional dances from various tribes in Baliem and Wamena.
The performances at the Baliem Valley Cultural Festival in Wamena, Papua, not only feature elders but also children, as seen in the video clip above.
The children wear matching outfits, adorning their bodies in their own unique style, led by the eldest. Women do not cover their chests. This demonstrates the beauty of the Baliem Valley in Wamena, and its culture is still preserved.
