This tracklist in its entirety is VERY contradictory. i am angry and furious and aggressive and POSITIVE of myself yet petrified and completely lost. I am angry at the culture that i take place inside of. i have full gorilla armor on for my family and values and other times i am so vulnerable its terrifying. this whole album is a knock down drag out fight physically and spiritually. i am fighting to be heard and seen to prove that i dont need to be heard and seen. i am creating to the best of my ability to turn being a present father into a masterpiece, and type this as i prepare to do some press in LA this week away from my 3 boys. i am contradictory, i am flawed, but i care. im the most serious ive ever been while realizing nothing is in my control and trying to take this as lightly as possible. THIS is the struggle, the importance, the human expression of the modern FATHER FIGURE.

there is not a single thing in this world i wouldn't do for you. this album is for you and i want you to know that your father went for it. despite his fears and risking looking silly your dad went for it. never ever compromise who you are out of fear. and i will spend the rest of my life living that out for you to see what a form of that could look like. i am nothing close to perfect and you dont need to be either. i will be here and for you no matter what. and when your old enough i hope you feel my desperate and overwhelming love for you through this music. and thanks for being the only useful a and rs left in the spinning world.
