~ CAD ~

Project title: Barrett M107 CAD Project
Semester: Fall 2020
Course: Computer-Aided Design
Description: A Barrett M107 was designed using Solidworks. Several simulations were done, such as stress analysis, flow simulation, and sustainability analysis.

~ Instrumentation ~

Project title: Ventilator
Semester: Spring 2020
Course: Instrumentation and Measurement
Description: Designed, using open-source projects, a volume control ventilator working in assistant control mode using LabView. We have used already found equations of the flow, volume, and pressure and assumed some constants in a way that we have the same behavior as a real ventilator.

~ Kinematics ~

Project title: TREBUCHET CATAPULT DESIGN
Semester: Spring 2021
Course: Kinematics of Machines
Description: Designed a catapult using SolidWorks and Matlab. All the calculations related to the machine dimensions, belt system, and gear set were provided. We also designed a new Double-Slider 4 bar Mechanism to push the ammo into its respective place.

~ MCEI ~

Project title: Camera Slider
Semester: Fall 2020
Course: Mechatronics System Design I
Description: A motorized (2DoF) camera slider made of PVC pipes and a motorized platform that hols that RaspberryPi and the DSLR camera, in addition, pullies were implemented to assist the platform movements. An image recognition algorithm was also implemented. OpenCV, python, and Linux were used to program the Pi. A special algorithm was designed to write to take time-lapses.

Project title: Ball on a Plate
Semester: Spring 2021
Course: Mechatronics System Design II
Description: Designed the mechatronics system of a ball on a plate project on Simulink, using transfer functions and Simscape modeling. In addition, a computer vision algorithm was designed to detect the position of the ball.

~ Final Year Project I ~ (ongoing)

Project title: Automated Welding Machine for Rounded Shapes
Semester: Spring 2021
Course: Capstone Design I
Description: A 3 Dof (2 linear and 1 rotational) machine was designed to weld rounded shapes (a concrete mixer's drum was taken as an example). An algorithm will be implemented so the machine can track automatically (AI and ML) the welding seam using a depth camera. Proof of concept was presented (Details in the report).
The project will be continued in Spring 2021. We will be focusing on the tracking system, and make it mountable on robotic arms.
