Speech of Nathalie von Siemens at International Conference for Improving the Learning of Biology and Related Sciences at the Pre-University Level in Chile, April 14th – 16th 2016
By combining agenda setting with operative educational activities, Siemens Stiftung is generating global momentum and developing programs that promote the teaching of natural sciences and technical subjects. The educational program Experimento links discovery-based learning with values development in an age-appropriate manner. Personal initiative, judgment, social behavior and a sense of responsibility are strengthened, and media skills are enhanced. The comprehensive teaching and learning materials used in the program are provided to educators free of charge on the online media portal of Siemens Stiftung. They are offered under an open license. In conducting its programs, Siemens Stiftung always works closely with local partners.
The global challenges arising from the exponential growth of modern technology can be successfully met only if we succeed in taking a focused international approach especially in the area of education. Global alliances are indispensable.
