‘SO SMOOTH, SO FAST, SO CAPABLE AND SO BRILLIANT’
The new Synapse blurs the line between endurance road and gravel categories. This bike also debuts Smart Sense, a partnership with Lezyne and Garmin. Smart sense integrates lights and radar to create a digital ecosystem.
RIDING THE SYNAPSE
We had the opportunity to take the new Synapse out in a variety of conditions along a mixture of road types to test its capabilities. The bike performed impeccably. Click on the video to see how we got to grips with this exciting and forward-thinking bike from Cannondale.
SO SMOOTH
With the new Synapse, comfort is built-in. Increased compliance delivers discreet flex zones in the rear triangle, seat tube and seatpost that absorb road chatter and bumps without adding weight or isolating you from the ride experience.
Tyre clearance has also increased, 30mm wide tyres are fitted from new, but there is clearance for 35's.
SO FAST
Every model uses the same lightweight carbon frame and fork. Subtle aerodynamic shaping of the frame and fork means you can ride faster with less effort. Size-specific design for perfectly tuned stiffness, ensuring all sizes deliver the same rider experience. It all adds up to a machine that loves to glide.
SO CAPABLE
The Synapse sports a comfortable and balanced riding position, finding the balance between racy performance and upright comfort. Handling is confidence-inspiring, with wide tires for cushion and grip. With room for two standard bottle cages, the Synapse can take on any road, in any condition.
SMART SENSE
Smart Sense creates a digital ecosystem with the bike. One central large-capacity battery pack powers front and rear lights from Lezyne, along with radar courtesy of Garmin. A display on the bars shows the proximity of others and can use the rear light to alert vehicles as they approach.

CANNONDALE APP
Simply spin the wheel to activate the sensor. The Cannondale App opens up a multitude of new possibilities. The app gives control of all Smart Sense features, radar display and logging of all your rides automatically, telling you every detail about your bike and even reminding you when it’s time for a service.

NON-PROPRIETORY PARTS & EXTRAS
The new Synapse is more user friendly, easier to service, and more practical for the rider. The standard threaded bottom bracket, standard round seat post, and standard seat clamp are very welcome changes
Along with the top tube bolts for securely mounting an accessory bag, the bike also includes a bolt-on adaptor for running full-length mudguards and rear axle end caps that allow this bike to be used with turbo trainers designed for QR axles.
All in, the new Synapse brings the same award-winning rider experience as the previous version but improves on it in every way. More comfortable with increased compliance, faster with aero profiling, more capable with increased tyre clearance and easier to service and maintain with fewer proprietary parts.
The changes work in conjunction with the cleverly integrated and exciting safety benefits of Smart Sense. The new Synapse could be the one road bike to rule them all.
