BiologicalNanobot has released the Alpha of his superb volumetric plugin for X-Plane 11 so I have made a cheap and amateur video! showing how much smoother it is.

Blue shadow issue on 11.41 is fixed.
Grain noise is reduced.
FPS is improved.
Internal "art datarefs" of the add-on are further tweaked.
You can download the Alpha in the link below:- Just place the folder in the 'zip' into your X-Plane 11 'Resources/Plugin' folder. Easy peasy!
