Ender 3 ESP32 ESP3D wifi mod
Previous to this video, I blew out my extruder port having wired it wrong. I had an ESP32 lying around, so I thought I would try it. I already had a damaged board, and I wanted to see how an ESP32 would work. I do not recommend doing this if you have no soldering experience or do not have the proper tools to do the mod.
Things I would consider differently:
There are no youtube videos on how to do this with current boards- read directions carefully, and look up individual chip leads to get the correct tx and rx pins.
Consider printing a box for this mod before doing the mod.
Use a fine tip soldering iron.
Flash Marlin with maximum baud and use same baud for ESP3D for maximum transfer rate of file uploads.
Update: disconnect esp32 from tx rx pins before reloading firmware to mainboard or esp32. I thought I bricked my esp32.
Final notes: I am going to wait for Octopi. It is more developed, and no soldering is involved.
