Original owner 1976 Corvette coupe done in code 37 Mahogany (original paint) and code 192 black leather seats. Original, born with, numbers matching 350 L48 with some upgrades like aluminum intake, mild cam, Holley carburetor and headers into side pipes. Heads are not original, these have 202 intake and 160 exhaust. Original, numbers matching 4-speed wide ratio transmission. You don't see a lot of 76 4-speed cars.
Original rear-end with a 4:10 gear. Only 43,427 original miles. Never in any adverse weather and always garage kept. The frame on this car is spotless, perfect keyholes and the end-caps are perfect.
Interior is all original and in very good condition, no rips or tears and still shows good. Power steering, power brakes, tilt telescopic steering column, map light and AM/FM radio.
The rear tail section was warped as they do and basically fell off. The owner did order a new fiberglass tail for the car, which is included in the sale. A local body shop quoted him $800. to have it done. We possibly could have the work done for the new owner at his expense or do the work yourself, pretty easy fix.
As to the runabilty, this Corvette runs excellent and everything works as it should. The original 180 hp has been pumped to approx 300 plus hp and sounds great going through the gears. Brakes were all gone through 4 years ago with new calipers and about 200 miles since done. The brakes are good and the emergency brake works.
Heres a great running 76 Vette and it's a "4-speed" that can be bought without breaking the bank. Frames on Corvettes mean a lot and I personally inspected this car topside and bottom and this is one of the cleanest frames I've seen. No worries. I've done 100's of Corvette inspections via my business.
The car needs minimal body work (tail) to make it presentable, give me a call maybe we can work out a deal and we'll have the work done on our end. Or save $$ and come get it the way it is. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car anywhere and yes it legal without the tail.
