Hello everyone! This is a little video I made to show the differences between all the different soft mount bodies I make
STUFFED:
Stuffed is when the body has absolutely no wire in it, this makes it more floppy and snuggly, just with a bit less realism
FULL BODY ARMATURE:
Armature goes throughout the whole body, legs, neck, spine and tail, but the tail is optional, this is for optimal poseablility, perfect for photography
LEG ONLY ARMATURE:
Just like the full body only without the spine wire, this makes a floppy mount with realistic legs, it cannot stand up but will still look great in photos, the neck and tail wires are optional
BONE ARMATURE:
Can be done with either full body or leg only, this is the addition of wooden dowel "bones" to the legs of the armature, this adds realism and ease of poseing to the mount
LIMP ARMATURE:
Limp armature is something all its own, it uses wooden dowels and wire, but the joints are able to move with gravity, but more realisticly then stuffed bodies
TLDR version:
Stuffed=snuggles
Full body=photos
Leg armature=best of both worlds
Bone armature=easy posing
Limp armature=realistic floppy
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I also do "hybrid mounts" which are very similar to soft mounts but instead of simply stuffing them, the whole pelt is rehydrated and the soft body is used as a "form" this creates the highest realism, but depending on the pelt this may make it less poseable
