5 Problem Invasive Species In Japan
In this video I will be focusing on the beautiful country of Japan. Japan is a mountainous volcanic country home to many beautiful animals unique to this area. Japan is a very elongated country so the climate and landscape can differ from the northern islands to the southern islands. Just like many other countries Japan also have some problem invasive species and will be going through just a few of these today as I will be going through 5 problem invasive species in Japan.

For our first problem invasive species we will be heading to south America as we have the coypu. The coypu was introduced for the fur trade but now it is known for destroying wetland.
For our next invasive species we will be heading to north America as we have the common snapping turtle. The common snapping turtle was thought to have found it's way into japan as an escaped pet but now damages fish and crustacean numbers.
For our next species we will be making the short trip over to east Asia as we have the Amur hedgehog. The amur hedgehog is thought to be another escaped pet and is known to feed on native bird eggs.
For our next invasive species we will be heading back over to north America as we have the largemouth bass. The largemouth bass was imported by a Japanese businessman for the fishing industry but unfortunately the largemouth bass has decimated native fish populations.
The final invasive species is the common pheasant.
