Double-deck press (TUCK)
Press patterns, when knitted on two needle beds, produce a beautiful, voluminous "waffle" fabric.
Double-bed presses are used to knit hats, scarves, and sweaters. Children's items made with a double-bed press are a classic. This lightweight, yet voluminous and warm fabric is ideal for children's sweaters and pants.
Equally beautiful is a split double-bed press—just make any simple needle shift on the front needle bed and you'll get a stunning pattern.
