I installed a really shitty piece of software yesterday. Immediately after it installed, everything started going crazy.
Here's a blog post explaining the problem.

The Mac was complaining about apps calling private system routines. I was getting error messages about my internal hard drive (the one I boot from).
When I tried rebooting, no luck. Then I tried to restore from a backup. No luck there either, it couldn't find the internal drive.
I asked about it on my blog, and got some advice about a command line utility I could run that would unbundle the two drives that make up my fusion drive (the internal one). That did the trick.
I recorded the experience of fixing the disk, just in case it completely destroyed that computer. Of course then I wouldn't have been able to upload the movie, so you already know (spoiler) that it had a happy ending.
People on Facebook say I should do more of these. I like doing them, so maybe I will.
