How To Etch Metal - Tools, Knives, Maker's Marks, etc
In this video, I show you how I electro etched my Danner style hand plane.

Items Needed:
Power Supply
Salt Water
Mask
Cotton Balls
PPE
How To:
Prep the surface - sand, clean, etc
Apply the mask
Connect one lead from the power supply to the item you want to etch
Connect the other lead to the cotton ball
Dip the cotton ball in the salt water
Touch the wet cotton ball to the surface of the item you want to etch
Methodically move the cotton ball across the surface
Remove the mask
Clean the surface
Optional Steps
Sand again to remove any scratches that occurred during the etch
Darken the background with cold blue or paint
