Precast concrete column installation doesn’t have to be slow, labour-heavy, or dependent on temporary bracing. This real site demo shows a column fully installed in just 10 minutes.
In this video, we follow an actual precast concrete column installation on site using Peikko’s bolted column connection system. No animation, no theory-only explanations—just real-world erection speed, real crews, and real results. With one crane operator and two workers, a precast column is lifted, aligned, bolted, and left standing immediately without temporary bracing while grout cures.
The demonstration focuses on how column shoes and anchor bolts work together to create a stiff, load-bearing connection straight after installation. For contractors and site managers, this means significantly reduced crane time, fewer personnel in the lift zone, and faster progress floor by floor. The video highlights how fast column erection with no temporary bracing improves safety and keeps schedules predictable, even on tight urban or multi-storey sites.
From a precaster’s perspective, the system is shown from the mould stage through to delivery. Column shoes are cast directly into the element, simplifying production and reducing site uncertainty.
