This is a three-hour course given at the University of Pavia to the students in the doctoral program in History. I present some of the basic issues regarding loading text data into the memory and analyzing it using Python. A brief introduction to SpaCy is also included. The presentation concludes with a panoramic view of visualization and Large Language Models.
