Overview of Moskvich 412 UZAM cylinder head modifications. Work included: full-length bore of intake ports by 35 mm, bore of intake seats by 35 mm, and bore of exhaust ports. Valves are from a UZAM 3317 engine, with a 40 mm intake plate diameter. Intake valve guides are from an Alfa Romeo, with VAZ-type valve seals. Exhaust guides are homemade, made of bronze. Valve stems are chrome-plated to accommodate non-ferrous alloy bushings. Bushing-to-valve stem clearance: intake 0.05 mm, exhaust 0.07 mm. Valve springs from a VAZ 2101 are matched to the correct torque. Seats are trimmed, and the valves are lapped.
