The new Nikon D5300 is a mid-range DSLR from Nikon that will sit alongside the current D5200. The D5300 features an all new 24 megapixel sensor, a 39 point auto focus system and Nikons new Expeed 4 image processor. It also boasts an all new lightweight construction.
The Nikon D5300′s monocoque design does little to break the DSLR mould. At 480g, the camera is noticeably lightweight and its plastic casing comes in a range of three colours (red, grey and black). In other words, it's an ordinary-looking camera that you'll have little trouble lugging around in a rucksack.
Compared to the D5200, the D5300 has a bigger vari-angle 3.2-inch touchscreen for you to review your photos on. It's also got an improved resolution, jumping up from 921k dots to 1037k -- so you'll immediately be able to tell whether your snaps are up to scratch or not.
