The goal of the US Government funded Iraqi Youth Initiative is to reduce youth unemployment by providing business skills training that will result in an unemployed youth receiving a new job or apprenticeship. Youths between the ages of 18 to 35 who excel in their training and have a clear idea of a business they would like to begin are eligible to apply for microfinance loans. The Iraqi Youth Initiative is made possible by the American people through the USAID-Tijara Provincial Economic Growth program.
