Blender Krita Opentoonz Animation!
A high-bandwidth video showing how a somewhat-more-complex shot elucidated what I consider to be a flaw in my workflow which I have corrected.
This video also shows the judicious infusion of Blender into the process can be quite useful. It's like OpenToonz plastic tool on steroids.
Another highlight is how the free FastStone image viewer application makes it easy to visualize your storyboard and make "live" edits to it, quite kewl, that.
Quick Note
In the section on wearing your "creator" hat vs your "managerial" hat, one thing I did not get around to covering is that if you conflate the two, what you'll do is create multiple layers for, say, eyes, or mouth at the stage where you're trying to figure out the storytelling, attitude and emotion. Once you start wearing the managerial or logistical hat prematurely, you create all these layers to keep your work organized and what happens is that when you should just crank out the next keyframe, you discover that you just drew a bunch on the wrong layer! This happens OFTEN. It really breaks the creative flow as you take 5 minutes to fix the mistake. This underscores the danger of being in the wrong "mode" at the wrong time.
