Very limited evidence for most topical products. Retinoids postpartum is worth using. In Office procedures are most helpful.

From studies available, only two creams have shown to have benefit. Both contain centella along with proprietary blend of other ingredients; hard to say which one or if all in combination are what’s working.

⭐️Trofolastin (Mallol et al, Int J Cosmet Sci 1991)

-A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with 80 women
-Trofolastin cream to the abdomen, breasts, buttocks and hips from the 12th week of pregnancy until delivery
-56% of treatment group had less stretch marks compared to placebo
👉🏻👉🏻 BUT: The cream was effective for preventing Sm mostly in women with a history of puberty related stretch marks NOT in those with a history of Pregnancy related SM preceding pregnancies.
👉🏻Maybe helpful at reducing severity of stretch marks

ISDIN WOMAN Anti-stretch Marks (García et al, Int J Cosmet Sci. 2013)
-A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with 183 women
-Applied cream twice a day to the abdomen,
thighs, hips, buttocks and breasts starting in the 12th week
-No significant reduction in development of stretch marks in both groups
-But stretch marks in treatment remained stable, while they worsened in placebo
👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻The cream helps to reduce reduced the severity stretch marks in women with history of pregnancy related SM; May reduce likelihood of stretch marks from developing in women without history of pregnancy related SM.
