Best Way to Duplicate Objects Around a Circle in Inkscape
In today’s tutorial I’ll be demonstrating the best way to duplicate objects around a circle with Inkscape 1.1.
Step by step
00:00 | Intro
00:09 | Grab the CIRCLES TOOL and create a circle.
00:17 | Copy it so that we can paste its size later.
00:22 | Grab the RECTANGLES TOOL and create a square.
00:33 | Paste size of the circle so that they both have the same sizes.
00:39 | Duplicate the circle.
00:44 | Enable these snapping options.
00:49 | Move it and position as shown. Make sure it snaps.
00:58 | Unite these objects.
01:03 | Rotate it 135° to the right.
01:08 | Snap its crosshair rotation as shown.
01:13 | Duplicate it, flip it horizontally and unite. This will create the base shape.
01:30 | Move the circle to the bottom of the heart shape. Make sure it snaps.
01:35 | Later on we'll surround this circle with our base shape.
01:41 | Select the heart shape and give it a stroke.
02:00 | While it is selected, open the Path Effects dialog.
02:06 | Choose ROTATE COPIES.
02:09 | Make it 8 copies.
02:15 | Move its rotation crosshair to the center of the circle.
02:26 | Convert it to path and break them apart.
02:36 | Remove unnecessary objects.
02:43 | Now were gonna create the negative and overlapping effects of our base shape.
03:17 | Now that we have the form we need, let's surround the circle again.
03:37 | Convert it to path and unite to finalize the logo.
03:43 | Now with the final touch, change it's color.
