Here is a neat kit that lets you build your own app controlled #RC paper #airplane. The POWERUP 4.0 comes with Invader model templates but you can build your own custom planes. It has an acro mode for fun maneuvers. The plane has an on-board computer that calibrates your plane for imperfect weather.

This plane has a range of up to 230ft. You are going to need a lot of open space to practice. I did use it in my backyard and while it is fun to fly, you have to be careful not to crash after a few seconds. The PowerUp 4.0 is pretty durable and survived a few bad landings due to my non-existent piloting skills.
