We embarked on a 3-day jungle trek through Gunung Leuser National Park, located in Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra, Indonesia, home to some of the last remaining wild orangutans on the planet. This UNESCO protected park offers the rare opportunity to observe these primates in their natural habitat. As we hiked through the dense rainforest, we experienced the thrill of searching for endangered orangutans, along with several other unexpected encounters and adventures. If you’re planning an adventure trip to Indonesia or looking for a unique jungle trekking experience, this video will give you a glimpse into the rich biodiversity of Sumatra and the unforgettable moments of seeing these incredible animals up close.
I would like to give a special thanks to our guides Jul and Edres, without them the trip just wouldn't have been the same.
