ADS-B equipped aircraft automatically beam data such as speed, altitude, and position every eight seconds or less. Then Aireon Hosted Payloads on the IridiumNEXT satellite constellation gather the data and beam it back to earth, where Aireon analyzes and distributes the data to clients.
