Code Combat is a fun and educational game that teaches principles and concepts of programming in different languages. This is ideal to encourage coding for school-age boys and girls. As a parent, I had fun going through the levels and learning these basic skills myself! This game allows you to not only code in Python, but there's an option to use HTML, JavaScript, and CoffeeScript as well. Each level builds a basic foundation that you will use to complete more advance levels as you progress through the game. You are able to learn programming at your own pace with single player and multi-player options. With a premium account you can create and/or join clans and play against other players in a ranked ladder system. Signing up for Code Combat was easy for us because there's no download - the entire game is played at codecombat.com.
