"The Linux Audio API: A Different Way To Do Audio"
Abstract:
As macOS/iOS/Android/Windows audio developers, we are so used to callback based audio APIs, that it is hard to imagine a different API philosophy for audio playback and capture. However, the low-level Linux audio API is not based on audio callbacks at all. Not only, does this make the Linux audio API extremely powerful, but it also gives the API the necessary flexibility to cater to a huge variety of use-cases: from low-latency embedded-systems, mobile phones to high-end audio workstations.
This talk is not only interesting for anyone who wants to dabble with audio on linux or embedded systems, but anyone who wants to get a fresh perspective on audio API design in general.
