Throughout the history of the Ukrainian Cossacks, the Bug Cossacks - the knights who lived on the Bug River and in the Bug region as a whole - stood out for their special originality, independence, and even arbitrary arrogance. Administratively and territorially subject to the authority of the Kosh of the Zaporozhian Sich, the Bug Cossacks actually - sometimes quietly, and sometimes openly - always considered themselves a completely independent entity, which sometimes led to a certain ideological opposition and even political confrontation with the Dnieper Cossacks. And they had every right to do so, because it was on the Bug River that the very first Cossacks appeared in ancient times. So, today we will talk about the glorious, colorful, self-sufficient and proud Bug Cossacks.
