An Ohio treasure hunter who refused to reveal the location of a $50 million treasure has been released from prison after 10 years. Tommy Thompson discovered the SS Central America, a steamship that sank off the coast of South Carolina in 1857. It was en route from Panama to New York with a cargo of gold when it hit a storm and sank. Thompson recovered half a billion dollars' worth of gold, but hid a tenth of it somewhere from those who funded the search. Investors sued. The treasure hunter claimed he suffered memory loss, and Thompson was sentenced to 10 years. And now he's out. I wonder if he's regained his memory now?
