This is for UCS' 2nd anniversary! I'm really pleased to be a part of this group and collaborate with so many wonderful editors, so this edit really goes out as a shout out to them all :) If you haven't checked out the work on the channel please do:

So we decided to make edits based on themes and this idea really caught me and only a day later I had a song and an idea and everything was coming together! Then I stupidly broke two fingers and so was slowed down quite a bit - couldn't type or anything, but now I'm back - and I managed to get this one finished and finally passing my editors OCD checks!
This edit started for me with the song catching my attention and making me think that The Untamed really did have the story of Wei Wuxian's golden core always in the characters heads. But then I thought about Wen Qing's part to play in that, which led me to Wen Ning, which led me to one of the saddest scenes I remember - and probably the first scene of this drama that I cried at.
So I started editing with that scene in mind, but then as I was trying to cut the song I realised I couldn't. Because I realised from that scene on until the moment Wei Wuxian dies, I basically cried through most of those episodes the first time I watched the drama. Then trying to play off those two heartbreaking moments I realised again how many parallels there were in the motivations of WWX and WQ and also their endings.
So then I followed the road of personal inspiration and made an edit with the theme of heartbreaking moments, based on the pieces of this story that broke my heart first. So this edit is a culmination of those moments - even though there are far, far many more that made me bawl my eyes out - which somehow seemed to fit perfectly with this song, hence why I didn't even try to cut it anymore and just ran with what came to me, which was everything (with a bit of time) in perfect places.
I highly advise tissues, and if you've yet to watch The Untamed, I recommend you also do that! Otherwise, please enjoy this edit!
