What is “RAM?” - aka Random Access Memory. Think of the difference between a 1 inch garden hose and 4 inch garden hose. A 4 inch garden hose is going to push a lot more water than a 1 inch. Similarly, having 16GB of RAM is going to give your MacBook Pro a lot more capacity than merely having 4GB of RAM.
