This is the largest mortar gun used in the war—the Karl-Gerät—with a two-ton ammunition load and 300 kilograms of explosives, designed to destroy enemy fortified concrete structures. The 60-cm diameter shell was five times larger than conventional mortars used at the time. However, the shells often failed to detonate due to technical problems, and all were destroyed, with the exception of a single surviving example, which is now on display in a museum in Moscow. #mortar
