🎓WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS VIDEO:

Hello! In this video, we'll take a closer look at the decomposition of forces into x and y components! Vectors can be decomposed. They are most often decomposed into x and y components. This decomposition gives us a right-angled triangle, and we can calculate the force components using sine and cosine. For x, we get: F_x = F*cos(a) and for y, we get: F_y = F*sin(a).

Examples from physics include:

Mechanical work: W = F * s * cos(a)

Inclined plane: F_N = F_G * cos(a); F_H = F_G * sin(a)
Torque: M = F * l * sin(a)
