We'll cover basic navigation in Jetpack Compose without third-party libraries. We'll create a screen state, enable screen switching using the "when" method, work with callbacks, and see how a manual approach works. I'll explain why currentScreen = "next" is convenient for getting started, but unsuitable for production.

If you're developing an Android app with Compose, you need to understand not only how to use Navigation Compose but also how navigation works under the hood.

00:00 Introduction
00:41 Why do we need navigation?
01:41 Ways to implement navigation
01:52 Transitions from Activity to Activity
02:24 Fragments and NavController (before Compose)
03:06 "Pure" Compose approach (no libraries)
03:43 Navigation Compose (recommended in 90% of production projects)
05:17 Minimal example of navigation in Jetpack Compose
05:30 Preparing a project for implementing "pure" navigation
06:00 Creating "our" navigation (AppNavigation)
07:03 Implementing screens ourselves (FirstScreen and SecondScreen)
08:32 Why isn't this used in production?
08:50 Lack of BackStack control
09:40 Argument issues
10:24 No convenient animations, deeplinks
10:37 Screen state not saved
