The Amazfit X is an upcoming smartwatch from the company that makes the Amazfit GTR-types watches but also the Mi Band series. You can find the Amazfit X on IndieGoGo here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/am...
So over the last weeks, I have been using the Amazfit X. The first thing to notice is the curved glass screen and that very bright and sharp display. It makes the watch look unusual and slick.
As I have been given a preproduction model, not all the watch faces were available on my watch yet but it looks like it will have some very cool looking watch faces in the weeks to come.
The Amazfit X comes with a 200mAh battery that gives it 7 days of battery life. This is not AS much as you would get with a smart band like the Mi bands, but the screen on the "X" is quite a bit bigger and quite a bit brighter which is a compromise I gladly make.
It comes with most of the features you come to expect on the Amazfit watches; it has Bluetooth 5 connectivity, GPS and GLONASS positioning, a 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, a pretty strong vibration motor, heart rate monitor, and 5ATM waterproofing. It works as a fitness tracker to run, fitness, swim, and also has a step-counter. It can constantly track your heart rate data and it can measure blood-oxygen levels and it has some basic apps like stopwatch, timer, etc.
It can show you notifications that you receive on your phone and it has apps like the weather app.
Overall it is very similar in functionality to what you would find in the Amazfit GTR for example () but has a totally different design. That curved glass display really gives it an unusual look which might suit you a lot more than the GTR-series for example.
I did really enjoy trying out the Amazfit X over the last weeks and I was very surprised by how bright and sharp that display is. If you want to check it out and read more about it you can head over to the IndieGoGo campaign page where you can also pre-order it for about 50% off during this campaign.
