Rugby Referee Analysis: Wales vs Australia 2021| Oh Boy... That was Horrendous!
This video was requested by a lot of my fans where they told me about the horrendous officiating in the Wales vs Australia game where the officiating mistakes had a big impact on the game. Dave Rennie also went after the officials after the game when he called the decision making as "horrendous" and boy was he right... How this happened in an international game boggles my mind. These guys are paid professionals and they keep on having a negative impact on the game of rugby. How many times does this need to happen for World Rugby to do something? How many careers should these officials impact before they have to take accountability?
Dave Rennie had every right to be furious after that game. There were so many inconsistent interpretations of the ref. Especially with dangerous plays and deliberate knockdowns. There was a clear difference in how he handled it for both teams. It was absolutely disgraceful.
Then there is Marius Jonker, every single big game he is involved in, he is surrounded by controversy. So please explain to me how he's still able to TMO big games with no accountability. He always wants to be involved in a game and then he messes up the basic calls. In this case he simply calls out questionable dangerous plays by Australia, but then goes on to ignore other incidents that were just as dangerous as the red card incident. That should never happen.
Mike Adamson and his officiating crew, except the one AR from Georgia (Who was actually good). Should be held responsible for this performance. Will they apologize to Dave Rennie and Australia? Will this game get reviewed? and Will they face consequences for this horrific performance? Judging by how World Rugby deals with bad officiating, I doubt anything is going to happen. But you can be sure they'll fine Dave Rennie for speaking out, that's how they work.
