There are still plenty of Soviet IZH motorcycles, but most of them are not running. USSR-made spare parts (cylinder-piston groups, crankshafts) are very difficult to find, and their availability is decreasing every day. And repairing them with Chinese parts is a waste of money.
The Izh's frame and gearbox are quite sturdy, so all that's left is to find a suitable motor. A walk-behind tractor engine is perfect for this situation. It's inexpensive, compact, fuel-efficient, and VERY powerful. By combining the gearbox and this motor, you can get a cheap (used Izh - 5000 rubles, motor - 8000 rubles) or even a free (someone has an Izh and a walk-behind tractor or a motor pump) motorcycle for the countryside.
