About this post…👇
Underrated.
Doing 50+ planks variations a week last year has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my practice. I did so many of them that I don’t even need to think of PPT in any Planche progression and other movements that requires it. It just happens automatically.
Some benefits…
✅ Improves scapula stability
✅ Increase body awareness
✅ Improves core stability
✅ Improves PPT
✅ Body-Line
In this video I wanted to show the most important key points of an elbow plank (for calisthenics skills purposes) as well as how I personally enter the position.
👉🏽 First, I set my scapula into protraction and depression.
👉🏽 Then, I engage my abs, and glutes and posteriorly tilt my pelvis.
👉🏽 Finally, I raise the legs by engaging my quads. Keeping legs and heals together.
👉🏽 Additionally, you might find that pushing the hips down slightly will result in a better body line (not shown as I am already in a good line)
Don’t overlook the important of this “basic positional drills”. They are extremely useful if done correctly and doing them early on in your calisthenics journey is a good idea. Especially true of Planche is one of your goals.
