In this video we show you how to install a mild lift on a 3rd Gen 4runner. The technique we use for this lift would translate to many other trucks as well. We installed 99 Tall Highlander springs on the front, OME 906 springs in the rear and Bilstein 5100 shocks all around. Since this was a mild lift, there was no need for extended brake lines, panhard drop, differential drop or extended bump stops.
Important Notes:
1)After removing the driver side strut first, we learned a better way to get the bottom bolt free. @ 11:46 play time, you'll see us using a better technique with the bottle jack.
2)Another thing we learned that makes reassembly of the strut easier is to make a mark on the suspension support facing directly out towards the wheel so you can line up that mark with the coil spring in the right position so everything lines up correctly. I talk about this at 15:50. We didn't have the end of the coil springs in the correct direction on both sides so we had to remove them and fix our mistake.
3) @21:16 we give the torque spec for the outer tie rod castle nut. It says on the screen 67 LBF. It should have said 67 FT-LBF or 67 foot pounds.
