The OECD Forum and Ministerial Council Meeting 2017 took place on 5-6 June 2017. The Forum sought to better understand the various deepening divides in our societies, closely linked to the erosion of trust in the ability of governments to effectively improve lives, and the emergence of silos of opinion, post-truth and fake news that further contribute to feelings of isolation and polarisation. Forum discussions concentrated on concrete actions and measures to be considered to win back the confidence of those who feel left behind and treated unfairly, fearful of the impact of globalisation and the unprecedented speed of technological development.

Watch our short video capturing key highlights from the Week. Featured speakers included: HRH The Crown Princess, Denmark; Isabelle Kocher, CEO, Engie; Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Prime Minister, Denmark; Mary Robinson, former President, Ireland; President, Foundation for Climate Justice; Theis Søndergaard, Co-founder, Vivino; and Roxanne Varza, Director, Station F, France.

ABOUT THE OECD
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation established in 1960 that works collaboratively to build better policies for better lives. Our goal is to shape policies that foster prosperity, equality, opportunity and well-being for all. Together with governments, policy makers, policy shapers, and citizens, we work on establishing evidence-based international standards and finding solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion, we provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.
