If we want to add an extra layer of realism to our models then you can't beat light effects. This video shows how easy it is to add an LED to a model building.

The first step is to solder leads on to the LED but if you don't fancy that, then you can buy ready soldered LEDs from suppliers like LedBaron.de. If the LEDs are any smaller then I always do that. My days of soldering 0.4 by 1.4mm LEDs are done!

If you want to know how to solder even small LEDs then check out MicroLumina.

The Amazon links are all items I have either bought or bought something similar for myself. Clicking on any links to Amazon will give me a small affiliate income which I use to produce more videos. Every little helps!

Sunny White LED - LEDPLcc4/3258 - I get mine from ledbaron.de via eBay.

Flux (if you use plumber's flux like me then you must rinse it afterwards as it remains corrosive and can eat away at your wires)

Soldering Iron - I use a 15w Antex but any brand with a reasonably small tip will do.

Solder - I'm still using up my old lead solder but do ventilate well if you do use that.
