Suppose you have large number of entries and you want to check entries for particular criteria like amount wise or ledger wise or voucher type wise and etc then you can use Filter range option (Alt+F12) .
In Tally Prime if you want to filter any report you can open that report and as per below screen you can see that we opened Day Book in that there are different type of entries for example if you want to see only purchase entries then you can use Filter option in Tally Prime Keyboard shortcut for this is Alt+F12
