Upon discovering who was behind the kidnapping and imprisonment of her mother's soul, Jane sets out to track down and confront a vengeful spirit known as Lucy. But Jane may be in over her head, for Lucy has a few tricks up her sleeve.

Haunted City is one of my favorite original stories, and I was heartbroken that I was never able to finish my live action series. As we all know, 2020 was a disaster, and sadly, a lot of my scheduled films for that year fell victim to the pandemic. But ever since I began making these radio plays, I've been able to breathe new life into many of unfinished works, The Centurion being one of them.
So naturally, wanting to finish Haunted City seemed like a no brainer. And since this was going to be in audio drama format, my story was limited by the financial restrictions that originally hurt my live action series. This time, I was able to indulge my imagination a little more and tell a more vibrant story, despite not having any actual visuals. And that's really what I love about radio plays. There is absolutely no limit.
With this new/continuation, I kind of wanted to reintroduce Jane, Death, and the world they inhabit. For starters, Haunted City is, and has always been set in the future. It was never meant to be set in our present. So right off the bat, I wanted to establish that. As for the reintroduction, I felt adding in Scarlett was a nice way to let us know who Jane is as a person, as well as an emissary for Death. Once that was out of the way, we jump right back in where the live action series left off, with Jane wanting to to avenge her mother, Josie.
Lucy is a hell of character as well. I figure she's been dead for over 150 years, and like anyone living such a limited existence, there is only so much one can do. For Lucy, it's books. She is a punk rock book worm with no remorse. Ironically Lindsey Bean, who actually played Josie in Chapter III voices Lucy. Dana Jesberger, a long time yet not used half as much as she should, Blinky alum, has stepped in to provide the voice of Jane, and I am happy to say her New Yorker attitude was definitely breathing some new life in Jane.
