In this video i will be telling you everything you need to know about Spy x Family in 25mins. So even if you are a non-manga reader, this single video will provide enough value that will enable you to have conversations with people who are fans of the franchise, anime only watchers and manga absolutists. But first onto the official synopsis myanimelist of Spy x Family on MAL:
Corrupt politicians, frenzied nationalists, and other warmongering forces constantly jeopardize the thin veneer of peace between neighboring countries Ostania and Westalis. In spite of their plots, renowned spy and master of disguise "Twilight" fulfills dangerous missions one after another in the hope that no child will have to experience the horrors of war.
In the bustling Ostanian city of Berlint, Twilight dons the alias of "Loid Forger," an esteemed psychiatrist. However, his true intention is to gather intelligence on prominent politician Donovan Desmond, who only appears rarely in public at his sons' school: the prestigious Eden Academy. Enlisting the help of unmarried city hall clerk Yor Briar to act as his wife and adopting the curious six-year-old orphan Anya as his daughter, Loid enacts his master plan. He will enroll Anya in Eden Academy, where Loid hopes she will excel and give him the opportunity to meet Donovan without arousing suspicion.
Unfortunately for Loid, even a man of his talents has trouble playing the figure of a loving father and husband. And just like Loid is hiding his true identity, Yor—who is an underground assassin known as "Thorn Princess"—and Anya—an esper who can read people's minds—have no plans to disclose their own secrets either. Although this picture-perfect family is founded on deception, the Forgers gradually come to understand that the love they share for one another trumps all else.
Anya Forger formerly known as Test Subject 007 is a telepath whose abilities were created in an experiment conducted by an unknown organisation. Anya has fair skin and green colored eyes. She also has shoulder length light pink hair and a fringe which just reaches above her eyes. Anya is most noticeably shorter than most of her peers which fun fact is something that her peers teases her about. She is voiced by Tanezaki Atsumi, who used to voice as Lisa Mishima in Zankyou no Terror and Sayuri in Owari no Seraph
Loid forger our main protagonist is a handsome man of unknown age with short blond hair, blue eyes, and light skin. You might recognise his voice as he’s played by the seiyuu Takuya Eguchi, who plays Hikigaya Hachiman in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU. He is quite tall, has an athletic build and big ears. As a spy, his personality is very cold and efficient for his job, doing whatever it takes to complete the mission, from joining terrorist organizations to dating his target's daughter to becoming a father. However, he is shown to have a kind personality as shown when he rescued Anya Forger, even risking his identity as a spy.
Yor is an attractive women and that is fairly tall. She has fair skin, long black hair and red eyes. You might recognise her voice as she’s played by the seiyuu Saori Hayami where she plays Shinobu Kochou, the quiet-voiced but deadly Insect Hashira. While she works as an ordinary clerk at Berlint City Hall, at night she lives her life as a secret assassin.
In short Spy x Family is a really good series full of jokes that are guaranteed to make you laugh. It is certainly a good entry into the medium of anime that will stand the test of time.
