Today, I got my hands on this Soviet-era flash unit, the Chaika. After repairing it, I discovered that batteries for it aren't available at the nearest hardware store. Online platforms that sell them require a few weeks' wait. Judging by forum reviews, it's incredibly thirsty, so I decided to convert it to use old laptop batteries.
