qimygoの2015年にリリースされた1st 7インチ「アメノヒ(c/w Marble)」が11年の時を経て再発！
A面の「アメノヒ」は1960年代後半のジャマイカ音楽に大きく影響を受けたオリジナル曲で、発売から11年経つ今もなお、クラブシーンやライブで人気の、甘く切ないロックステディ。B面の「Marble」 は1970年代中期に誕生したUKレゲエのパイオニアでもあるデニス・ボーヴェルや、同じくUKを代表するプロデューサーのマッド・プロフェッサー率いる名門レーベルARIWAサウンドをリスペクトした心地よいリズムに、透明感のある歌声が印象的なラヴァーズ・ロック。今作では、Jagabe(Reggaelation IndependAnce、Soul Dimension)によるダブ・ミックスが施された新バージョンを収録。オリジナル曲の爽やかさを残しつつも、ディレイやリヴァーヴの浮遊感、抜け感が曲全体に漂う、心地よいDUBを存分に感じられる一曲となっている。
参加ミュージシャンは、ジャパニーズ・レゲエシーンの第一線で活躍するドラム 大石幸司(LITTLE TEMPO)、ベース 青柳"MAH"真順(GREEN MASSIVE)、ギター 鈴木孝夫(FRISCO)らに加え、キーボードはqimygo自らが担当。さらにホーン隊にはトロンボーン 723(J.J Session)、ソプラノサックス＆フルート mol(The SKAMOTTS) 、テナーサックス Inatch(Yant Izez)と、こちらも日本のSKA・レゲエシーンで活躍する実力派プレイヤー達が集結。
ラフでタフなリズムに、色鮮やかで洗練されたホーン隊の音色、クリアな歌声が見事にマッチした生バンドならではのグルーヴを感じられるダブルサイダー盤。ジャケット・盤面ラベルは、2015年発売時の7インチでもデザインを担当したCOMを起用、全面厚紙スリーブをキャンバスに見立て、歌詞に寄り添ったデザインをジャケットに落とし込んだ最新の描き下ろし作となり、音と共にジャケットや盤面デザインも楽しめる仕様となっている。

qimygo’s first 7-inch single, “Ameno Hi (c/w Marble),” originally released in 2015, is being reissued after 11 years!
The A-side track, “Ameno Hi,” is an original song heavily influenced by late 1960s Jamaican music. Even now, 11 years after its release, this sweet and bittersweet rocksteady track remains popular in the club scene and at live shows.
The B-side, “Marble,” is a lovers rock track featuring a soothing rhythm that pays homage to ARIWA Sound—the prestigious label led by Mad Professor, another leading UK producer, and Dennis Bovell, a pioneer of mid-1970s UK reggae—and is characterized by its crystal-clear vocals.
This release features a new version with a dub mix by Jagabe (Reggaelation IndependAnce, Soul Dimension). While retaining the freshness of the original track, the song is infused with a pleasant dub vibe, with a sense of floating and airiness from delay and reverb permeating the entire track.
The participating musicians include Koji Oishi (LITTLE TEMPO) on drums, Masamichi “MAH” Aoyagi (GREEN MASSIVE) on bass, and Takao Suzuki (FRISCO) on guitar—all active at the forefront of the Japanese reggae scene—with qimygo himself handling the keyboards. Furthermore, the horn section brings together a lineup of talented players active in Japan’s ska and reggae scenes: 723 (J.J. Session) on trombone, mol (The SKAMOTTS) on soprano saxophone and flute, and Inatch (Yant Izez) on tenor saxophone.
This double-sided 7-inch record lets you feel the unique groove of a live band, where the rough and tough rhythm, the colorful and sophisticated sound of the horn section, and the clear vocals blend together perfectly. For the jacket and record label design, COM—who also designed the 7-inch released in 2015—was commissioned once again. Treating the full-coverage cardboard sleeve as a canvas, he created an all-new illustration for the jacket that incorporates designs inspired by the lyrics, allowing listeners to enjoy not only the music but also the jacket and record label designs.
