Despite all that political power and the rhetoric of 'transformative change', 'kindness' and 'empathy', Ardern's government failed to bring about significant change for those who need it most.
What this tells us is that the colonial government is incapable of shifting its priorities. It was created to serve extractive capitalist industries and it always will.
The only way we will achieve change is through people power.
