This boiler is over 10 years old; about five years ago, the heating element was replaced. The old gasket wasn't sealing properly, so we sealed it with sealant and tried our best to get it out. It lasted another five years.
Recently, my mom called and said the boiler was leaking. There were two options: the first, the easiest and most expensive, was to buy and install a new boiler; the second, to replace the faulty parts. Since the second option was cheaper, we decided to give it a try. In a pinch, we could always revert to the first option. This video will show you the painstaking process of repairing a boiler.
