In the last video, I looked at how to choose the wire section, cable section and circuit breakers for electrical wiring. The wire size chart in this video is valid when using wires and cables that actually meet the stated specifications. Some electricians and salespeople cheat when selling and laying cables, using substandard materials. In rare cases, they do this because of their incompetence.

Wires and cables can comply with GOST, TU, EAC.
GOST is a state standardization. Came from the times of the Soviet Union.
TU - technical conditions. They are created by the manufacturer for the manufactured products.
EAC - Compliance with the regulations and requirements of the Eurasian Customs Union

Any cable or wire complies with specifications. These are the technical conditions according to which it was manufactured by the enterprise. But in order for it to comply with GOST or EAC, it must be certified for compliance with the technical requirements of these standards. If the cable or wire is produced with pre-decreased characteristics, then the manufacturer will not pass this certification and you will not find GOST or EAC badges on the wire tag.

Cables that comply with GOST or EAC do indeed meet the stated specifications. This is the cross section of the conductive wires, the material of the wires, the material and thickness of the insulation. It is these wires that I recommend for laying in your apartment or house.

Consider the differences between the wires TU and GOST (EAC). Each production writes technical conditions for itself. And as a result, the cross section of the wires can be underestimated by 20-30%. A cable with a cross section of 1.5 mm2 can be in real life a cross section of 1.1-1.3 mm2, and a cable with a cross section of 2.5 mm2 - a cross section of 1.8-2.0 mm2. Naturally, it is designed for a lower current, since the cross section of the cable cores is lower than stated.

The most interesting thing is that this is not a fake from China. These cables can be produced by the same enterprise, only one cable is TU, and the other cable is GOST. This can be seen on the cable tag. But sellers can change this tag.

How to insure yourself against buying substandard cable. Personally, I always buy cable in trusted places where they know me well. They sell cables and GOST and TU. I ask for a GOST cable - they sell it to me. It can be up to 30% more expensive. If you buy a cable - don't look for a cheaper cable - it's easy to run into a DUT cable.
