The Story of Humane
Humane is one of the most talked about AI tech companies today—and not in a seemingly good way.
The AI startup was founded by Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, who both were former Apple executives. 50% of their team comes from Apple. They've raised over $230M and have generated a lot of buzz and attention from the media.
Its latest product—the AI Pin has received mostly negative reviews for having a poor user experience and battery life. Consumers just don't see it solving any real problems and most of the tasks it can do for you, you can easily do with your smartphone without the hefty price tag of $699 and $24/month subscription.
Despite all the criticism, I think the AI Pin is a bold attempt at redesigning personal computing. I'm quite bullish on what Humane is trying to do—build technology for tomorrow that's more human and with good intentions. Even if this v1 doesn't live up to the hype.
